Development History

ns4decode was developed by an international collaboration of amateurs. Here is a summary of its history, with Nord User Forum usernames in parentheses:

• Randy (user @ns4decode)
  • 2024/08 - 2024/09: Developed the first version of ns4decode (CSV output only, MacOS only)
  • 2025/02: Wrote the first version of this User Manual
• Guy (user @guyd789)
  • 2024/09: Found a way to make it work on Windows
  • 2024/09: Decoded the arpeggiator parameters
  • 2025/01: Replaced one of ns4decode's functions to make the Windows installation simpler
  • 2025/01 - 2025/02: Developed the first version of the GUI
• Christian (user @florence) and Andreas (user @gaaal)
  • 2025/02: Grew the list of decoded piano sample names from less than 40 to more than 290
