I developed and tested ns4decode using versions 1.42 and 1.44 of the Nord Stage 4 OS and using version 3.13 of the Program file format, plus some incomplete testing on a couple of older Program file versions (3.04 and 3.07). It should also work with other versions of the Nord Stage 4 OS if the Program file version hasn't changed, and will probably work on most parameters even if it has (but this isn't guaranteed). The Nord Sound Manager shows you the version number of each of your Programs.
I developed and tested ns4decode using Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1. It should also work on any recent-enough Mac OS version. Here's a quick way to find out if it should work on yours:
which python3
and press return.
python3 --version
and press return.
/usr/bin/python3
and step 3 says version 3.4 or higher,
then ns4decode should work on your Mac OS.
Even though ns4decode wasn't designed to run on Windows, you might be able to make it work by installing a couple of extra things.
The ns4decode package consists of a set of plain text files (the source code files that run in Python 3, plus a README file) bundled as a single zip-file for downloading. Clicking the Download button below will give you a copy of that zip-file. The size of the zip-file is less than 50 kilobytes.
The instructions on the Preparing to use ns4decode page explain what to do after you download it.
